As 2025 comes to an end, we are thrilled to reflect on the remarkable strides made by Primal Pictures/Anatomy.tv this year. Among our key achievements are major updates to the 3D Real-time Embryology, Anatomy Learning Outcomes for Medicine, and 3D Real-time Functional Anatomy modules, and adding more invaluable accessibility features. Importantly, these upgrades set the stage for a 2026 filled with even more groundbreaking developments. Thank you for being part of our journey!
3D Real-time Embryology – Three additional embryo models now complete the developmental sequence from weeks 3-8, enabling students and educators to follow human development, step by step. Additionally, new clinical and structure text support a deeper understanding beyond memorization, making embryology more meaningful and applicable in medical contexts.
3D Real-time Functional Anatomy – New functionality such as favorites, share links, saving images, and a ‘history’ button are now available for improved learning, teaching, and collaboration. You can now also embed content directly into an LMS/VLE for seamless integration, and download a new mobile app version.
Anatomy.tv Accessibility – To comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards, we continue to improve our resources for all users. Notable 2025 updates include extending and improving screen-reader functionality and refinements to keyboard navigation. Primal ensures our digital resources meet global legal accessibility requirements so institutions and educators can be confident they’re fulfilling their legal obligations, while supporting and promoting inclusivity and improved learning experiences.

3D Real-time Embryology Language Translations – Our embryology content now includes AI-assisted translations that incorporate native-speaker reviews for five languages: French, German, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. This covers the entire module experience, including the user interface, anatomical names, educational text, and help files.
Anatomy Learning Outcomes for Medicine – 780 multiple-choice questions mapped to the Anatomical Society’s 156 learning outcomes for medicine are now available, designed to promote applied anatomical understanding rather than memorization. All questions were expertly developed and reviewed by Primal’s anatomists, with AI support enhancing precision and efficiency. Each underwent a rigorous board-level review to ensure academic integrity and clinical relevance, and are grounded in a clinical scenario for applying knowledge to real-world contexts.
