Primal’s Gross Anatomy 3D software and apps offer the option to learn and explore anatomy in a style that fits you best — with interactive 3D models, curated cross-sectional and dissection images, or expert-led videos aligned to published learning outcomes. Save, share, and embed high-resolution, dynamic content to support your curriculum, studying, or practice.

Developed to meet the need for detailed and medically accurate 3D anatomical resources, we created our initial model from cross-sectional donated body images sourced from the Visible Human Project. Additional MRI data and CT scans of a full human skeleton have also been used for updates. (Learn more about the development of our model).

With over 10,000 structures to choose from, create bespoke anatomical models for your needs and observe from any angle or zoom level. Or select and edit structures from curated pre-made 3D scenes with different view modes to suit your needs. Dissection tools, a body color option, and a coloring book feature make it the perfect lab companion — whether learning anatomical relationships in detail, preparing for surgery, or educating patients.

Perceptual and Adaptive Learning Modules (PALMs)

PALMs combines research-proven learning techniques with medically accurate 3D models to offer bespoke assessments that test users more on the structures they don’t know, thereby improving learning speed and increasing knowledge retention. By creating an algorithm based on right and wrong answers, and the time taken to answer the questions, it ensures full mastery of anatomy via gamification.

Anatomy Learning Outcomes for Medicine

With just under 40 hours of footage, master anatomy for medicine by learning from experts across the globe as they use our 3D Real-time module to highlight key anatomy. Continue to build a strong bridge to real-world application by reviewing dissection and MRI images, and watching clinical condition videos.

A partnership with the Anatomical Society, academics and professionals from across the world have ensured each video is aligned to curricula and 156 officially published learning outcomes on the fundamental anatomical concepts necessary for medicine.
